Also on Sunday, Sassuolo broke a long drought with a victory against Cremonese.

Genoa’s comeback, overturning a two-goal deficit to win 3-2 against Bologna , has so far marked Sunday’s football in Italy, apart from Atalanta’s thrashing of Parma.

At the Luigi Ferraris stadium, Bologna seemed well on their way to returning to winning ways when, in the 49th minute, Sebastian Otoa scored an own goal, extending the visitors’ lead to 2-0, after Lewis Ferguson had opened the scoring in the first half.

However, a serious error by Bologna’s goalkeeper, Lukasz Skorupski, earned him a straight red card in the 56th minute, leaving Genoa with a numerical advantage.

The turnaround began to take shape in the 62nd minute with Ruslan Malinovskyi’s goal, and was completed in the final stretch of the match by Caleb Ekuban (78th minute) and Júnior Messias (90+1st minute), after the Portuguese player Vitinha had been substituted in the 73rd minute.

Genoa (13th place) have now gone five games unbeaten in Serie A, a run also followed by Atalanta (seventh), who thrashed Parma 4-0 .

Gianluca Scamacca (15th minute, penalty), Marten de Roon (24th minute), Giacomo Raspadori (73rd minute) and Nikola Krstovic (90+2nd minute) secured the victory for the Bergamo team.

Sassuolo ended a run of seven games without a win in the league by beating Cremonese 1-0 . Alieu Fadera scored the winning goal in the third minute.

Also this Sunday, Juventus hosts Napoli (5:00 PM) and Milan visits Roma (7:45 PM) for the 22nd round of the Italian League .
