OFFICIAL: Héctor Herrera returns to the Houston Dynamo

Former FC Porto player leaves Toluca, Mexico, where he was a teammate of Paulinho.

Héctor Herrera has returned to Houston Dynamo of MLS, the American club officially announced this Wednesday. The former FC Porto player leaves Toluca, from Mexico, the club he represented for the last two seasons. 

With the Mexican team, and alongside former Sporting Lisbon player Paulinho, Herrera won the Clausura and Apertura titles. The Mexican international, who earned 105 caps, played 34 games for Toluca.

He now returns to Houston Dynamo, the club he played for between 2022 and 2024. Before that, the 34=year=old midfielder spent six seasons at FC Porto, making 245 appearances for the Dragons. He also represented Atlético Madrid before moving to the United States. 

Now playing for the Houston team, Herrera has signed a contract valid until the end of 2026, with the option of a one=year extension.
