Bruno Vicintin, president of the SAD (Sporting Club of Portugal, SAD), also says he will request the annulment of Paulo Victor’s expulsion.

Bruno Vicintin, president of Santa Clara’s SAD (Sports Limited Company), announced that the club will request the annulment of Paulo Victor’s expulsion and stated that the club has also requested the VAR audio regarding the controversial penalty on Hjulmand, further revealing that he received “unofficial information” that the offside line technology may not have worked.

The director announces that the club has already submitted three requests, the first of which relates to the expulsion of Paulo Victor near the end of the game, when Santa Clara was winning 2-1. “We will request the annulment of Paulo Victor’s expulsion so that he can participate in the next match. The images clearly show that he wasn’t even involved in the play, and it’s alarming that VAR wasn’t called for a review. We hope that justice will be done and that we won’t be further harmed,” he states.

The second request relates to the VAR audio from the controversial penalty incident. The club wants to understand the reasons that led the video assistant referee to intervene in the play and also the “delay of more than ten minutes in the review. The third request relates to the offside lines which, according to Santa Clara, did not work. “We were unofficially informed that the technology didn’t work and that the lines weren’t displayed in the broadcast. We hope this isn’t true because making a decision based on a technology that wasn’t presented could even be a legal error and, in our opinion, lead to the annulment of the match,” they further stated.
