The centre=back was injured during the warm=up for Saturday’s game and ended up not being used.

ntónio Silva underwent medical tests to determine the severity of the injury that kept him out of the match against Estoril on Saturday night, and the results brought good news. The centre-back suffered only a “muscle contusion edema in his right thigh” and should be available for the next game.

We recall that António Silva had been included in the match sheet as a starter for the game relating to the 17th round of the League, but ended up complaining of discomfort during the warm-up on the pitch at the Estádio da Luz, and as a precaution, he did not play, giving his place to Tomás Araújo.

Now that the severity of the injury has been determined, António Silva could recover quickly and may even be available for José Mourinho’s next game, this Wednesday in Leiria, against Sp. Braga, for the League Cup Final Four.
