Ten international moments that marked the year 2025

The year 2025 was filled with impactful moments in the international sporting landscape. In football, Paris Saint-Germain finally achieved European glory, Portugal won the Nations League again, and the first Club World Cup was held in the United States after a profound restructuring of the competition.

In tennis, the rivalry of the moment escalated to levels of another galaxy; in MotoGP, Marc Márquez showed, after practically being reborn, that superheroes exist; and Formula 1 crowned an unprecedented champion.

But there was more in a year that also cemented legends in the sport and tragically saw the departure of those who still had so much to give to football and to life. Like these ten, there were many other unforgettable moments. They don’t all fit here, but they will certainly remain in our memories.
