Transfermarkt has presented two versions of the most valuable starting elevens in the Portuguese league, but Benfica is only represented in one of them.
Sporting has the majority in the most valuable eleven of the League, according to the latest update of values assigned by the Transfermarkt website , which, in a 4-4-2 formation, only has one Benfica player, while in a 4-3-3 version, it doesn’t have any players from the Lisbon club at all.
In the first version presented by Transfermarkt , in a 4x4x2 formation, which represents the highest market value at a total of 417 million euros, Sporting has a total of six players [Diomande, Gonçalo Inácio, Maxi Araújo, Hjulmand, Trincão and Quenda], FC Porto four [Diogo Costa, Alberto Costa, Rodri Mora and Samu], while Benfica has only one [Pavlidis].
Samu and Hjulmand, valued at 50 million euros each, are the most valuable players in this team, followed by Diomande, Gonçalo Inácio and Geovany Quenda, all valued at 45 million. In the second version, a 4-3-3 formation valued at a total of 414 million euros, Benfica is no longer represented, as Pavlidis gives way to Alan Varela. Thus, Sporting retains the same six players, FC Porto adds one more, while Benfica is no longer represented. In these calculations, Transfermarkt , a website specializing in market values, relied on the latest update of player values, made last September.
