A return to competition in the near future is not in sight, contrary to what a Turkish newspaper reported.
Contrary to what was reported this Wednesday by the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, there is no prospect of Rafa Silva returning to competition for Besiktas anytime soon.
Maisfutebol is aware that the statements attributed to the Portuguese forward by the aforementioned newspaper are untrue.
Rafa Silva continues to train separately and there is, at least for now, no prospect of him being reintegrated into training at Besiktas, with the atmosphere still quite tense.
Disappointed with the team’s inability to compete for titles and with the growing instability at the club, the 32-year-old player maintains his intention to leave, backed by the position conveyed by his agent João Araújo in a statement .
Rafa has a contract with Besiktas for another season and a half and hasn’t played since November 2nd, the date of the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe. On November 18th, the Turkish club’s management issued a statement indicating that the former Benfica player cited back pain as the reason for not training.
