Matvey Safonov, the Russian goalkeeper who was instrumental in Paris Saint-Germain’s Intercontinental Cup victory against Flamengo, will be sidelined for three to four weeks due to a left-hand injury, the French club announced.

The European champion, four=time French champion, world runner-up, and now Intercontinental champion, explained that Safonov has a fracture in his left hand.

On Wednesday, the 26=year=old goalkeeper saved four penalties in the shootout against Flamengo , securing the Intercontinental Cup for the Parisians.
