Sporting player says he tries to do his best to stay calm.

Pote previewed the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Bodo/Glimt at a press conference held at the Estádio de Alvalade in Lisbon on Monday. He also spoke about the national team.

Physical condition

I hope to feel 100 percent. I’ll try. Clearly, the manager has already given us an analysis of what didn’t go so well. We know that the pressure and the timing of the pressure weren’t the best. We’ll try to show that we’re a different team from the first leg.

Pressure in attack

“We know we have to come out very strong. Pressing hard to try and score as quickly as possible. They scored on a counter-attack. We know that number 10 [Hauge] is very strong at leading their counter-attacks. They get a lot of players into the box. We’ll be very attentive and, if necessary, we’ll all defend inside the box. Conceding a goal makes things more complicated. We’ll try to send positive energy from the first minute.”

World Cup 2026

“I’ve been there before, I wasn’t called up… The decisions are up to the coach. I know the national team coach must have a lot of headaches, the range of options is very wide. But I will always do my best to be at peace with myself.
