The Portuguese international came off the bench to point the way to qualification.

Chelsea beat Cardiff City 3-1 in the English League Cup quarter-finals. Portuguese international Pedro Neto, who came off the bench at half-time, scored. A familiar name to Ruben Amorim also scored twice.

The goalless first half forced Enzo Maresca to make changes, bringing on Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto. Substitutions that proved decisive.

The Argentine, formerly of Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, opened the scoring before the hour mark (57th minute). The home team equalized through David Turnbull (75th minute).

The goal that restored Chelsea’s lead came with a Portuguese signature. Pedro Neto scored near the end of the match (82nd minute). Then, in stoppage time, Garnacho scored his second (90+3rd minute), making the final score 3-1. With this victory, Chelsea advances to the semi-finals of the League Cup, a competition they haven’t won since the 2014/15 season, when they were coached by José Mourinho.
