The incident occurred during stoppage time of PSG’s thrashing of Chelsea.

Amidst so many goals (and beautiful ones at that) in the PSG-Chelsea match on Wednesday, perhaps an unfortunate incident involving a Portuguese player went unnoticed.

In stoppage time, with Chelsea losing 4-2 (PSG would go on to score another goal), Pedro Neto pushed a teenage ball boy, causing him to fall.

The incident caused some confusion on the pitch, and he himself felt the need to apologize through TNT Sports.

“I would like to apologize for the situation that happened with the ball boy, I’ve already spoken to him. It happened in the heat of the moment. We were losing and he was protecting the ball. I gave him a little push and saw that I hurt him. I’m not like that. I apologized to him and gave him my shirt too,” he began to explain.

“He came to talk to me and even laughed, because he was happy that I had given him the shirt. I apologized to him about 35 times,” Pedro Neto assures.
