Parents and children in football: when the ball is also a matter ….

This Thursday marks Father’s Day, and Maisfutebol has prepared a gallery for you featuring some of the most well=known football families in the world, with active footballers who play or have played in top national divisions and followed in their fathers’ footsteps.

There are families full of examples, starting with that of Sérgio Conceição, who has three of his four sons playing in top division football leagues. The current Al Ittihad coach instilled in his children a love and talent for football, but he’s not alone when it comes to large families: just ask Diego Simeone or even the legendary Zinédine Zidane.

There are also families that are already in their third generation, such as the Maldini clan or, here in Portugal, the Sousa family.

And = which is not yet the case for Cristianinho, CR7’s son = there are those who are in their first years of professional football, such as Afonso Assis (son of Nuno Assis), Pablo (son of Pena), or Shaqueel van Persie, son of Robin, among others.
