Santos forward speaks of a decisive season and sets his sights on the World Cup with the Brazilian national team.

Neymar surprised everyone again by admitting that he might end his career at the end of the season. In an interview with CazéTV, the Brazilian international stated that he lives ,year by year, and that his future remains open.

I don’t know what will happen from now on, I don’t know about next year. Maybe in December I’ll want to retire. I don’t know, it will be a matter of my heart. One day at a time, he said.

The forward stressed that 2026 is a crucial year, not only for the club but also for the Brazilian national team.

I’m taking it year by year. This is a very important year for Santos, but also for the national team, because it’s a World Cup year. For me, it’s also a very big challenge, he explained.

After a period marked by injuries, Neymar revealed that he chose to postpone his return to competition to ensure he came back at peak strength.

I wanted to return to playing this season at 100 percent. That’s why I held back a few games, waited a little longer. I know a lot of people say a lot of things, they don’t know what it’s like day=to=day, but we have to endure,” he said.

The Brazilian praised the recovery work he has been doing alongside Santos.

“The club did a very good job planning, which helped me a lot in that aspect. I wanted to come back to help the team in the best way possible, but I held on a little longer to get back to 100 percent, without pain, without fear,” he added.

According to the player, he was satisfied with his return in the last match against Velo Clube .

I managed to come back very well. I’m happy and calm to have returned better than I was before. I need to regain match fitness and train more, but with work and perseverance I will reach 100 percent, which is what I want, he concluded.
