Benfica’s coach received a commemorative jersey after the victory against Farense, which secured their passage to the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup.

Farense will forever be etched in the history of José Mourinho’s career. The Benfica coach reached a historic milestone this Wednesday by achieving his 750th victory, recorded in Benfica’s triumph against the Algarve team ( 2-0 ), in a Portuguese Cup round of 16 match.

At the end of the match, already in the locker room of the São Luís Stadium, the Benfica coach was honored by the squad and the coaching staff, receiving a commemorative jersey to mark the achievement. Mourinho recorded the moment with a message published on social media.

“750 victories. Which one was the most important? The first? Benfica-Belenenses? The Champions League final between FC Porto and Monaco? The second Champions League final between Inter and Bayern? Today’s, Farense-Benfica? No! The next one! The 751st! Let’s work towards it,” wrote the coach.

As a reminder, the victory in the Algarve allowed Benfica to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup, where they will face the winner of the match between FC Porto and Famalicão.
