Argentine international will be out for at least a week for Monterrey

Argentine forward Lucas Ocampos suffered facial paralysis on the left side of his face. The 31-year-old, who plays for Mexican side Monterrey, will be out for at least a week. 

“Club de Fútbol Monterrey informs that player Lucas Ocampos presented with facial paralysis on the left side of his face, likely of viral origin. Ocampos was evaluated by a specialist to determine the appropriate treatment. The player will rest for seven days, and his clinical progress will be assessed to determine when he can return to preseason training with the group,” the club said in a statement. 

Having come through the River Plate youth system, Ocampos has played for clubs such as Monaco, Marseille, Milan, Sevilla, and Ajax. He has been in Mexico for two seasons. In a post on his personal account, the Argentine international shared an image with the message: “January will be better.
