In one of the most anticipated matches of this round of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo hosted and defeated Cruzeiro 2-0.

In the reunion with his former team, Leonardo Jardim and  Flamengo  took the lead after just five minutes, following a goal by Pedro. After some good individual work, the striker fired a powerful shot into the back of the net.

The goal that confirmed the victory came right at the final whistle. Samuel Lino (formerly of Gil Vicente) set up Carrascal (90+8m) who finished with class, chipping the ball over the Cruzeiro goalkeeper.

With this victory, Flamengo is in fourth place with seven points, while Cruzeiro has yet to win in the championship and is in 19th place with only two points.
