Danish forward recalls his final days at Man. United and how he felt it was all over
Rasmus Hojlund is having the best season of his career (in terms of numbers) and even considers that he has “rediscovered” the joy of playing football at Napoli.
In an interview with TV2 , the Danish forward talks about his recent time at Manchester United and what has changed in his career when everything seemed to be over. Hojlund is on loan to Napoli from the Red Devils and, so far, has 14 goals and four assists in 37 games for the first team.
In Naples, I rediscovered the joy of playing football. It seemed like everything was over, they said that in Denmark too. But I never gave up and always believed. I know very well that I still need to work and improve a lot, I’m very self-critical about that.
“If we analyze my last period at Man. United, I know I wasn’t at my best, I’m aware of that. But a lot has changed. You can’t judge a striker solely on when he’s in the final third and manages to score. I always stayed focused, without letting myself be influenced by the opinion of the media.
