Famalicão’s captain reached the milestone in the victory over Arouca.

Famalicão’s victory over Arouca (1-0) this Friday had a special meaning for Gustavo Sá.

The midfielder and captain of Famalicão reached 100 games in the league and became the youngest player ever to reach this milestone, at 21 years, three months and 24 days. The previous record belonged to João Moutinho, who reached his centenary in the championship while still playing for Sporting, at 21 years, six months and one day.

Having come through the youth ranks at FC Porto and Famalicão, Gustavo Sá made his league debut in August 2022, when he was still only 17 years old.

This season, the Portuguese under=21 international has scored four goals and provided one assist in 26 appearances for the Minho club.
