The Portuguese coach will sign a two-year contract with the Brazilian club.

Grêmio finalized the signing of Luís Castro on Tuesday night to replace the recently dismissed Mano Menezes, according to Maisfutebol .

A second meeting proved decisive for the management of the Porto Alegre club and the Portuguese coach to finalize the details of the agreement, especially the project’s structure and the financial aspects.

To return to Brazil, where he represented Botafogo between 2022 and 2023, Castro reinforced his desire to lead a broad and cohesive project, also participating in the youth ranks of the Rio Grande do Sul club.

Grêmio intends to announce the arrival of the new coach by next Friday, possibly this Wednesday, in a deal valid for two seasons (until December 2027).

At the moment, the Portuguese coach is in Dubai, waiting for approval to travel to Brazil to sign a contract with his new team.

At 64 years old, Luís Castro will be taking six Portuguese professionals to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean: Vitor Severino (assistant coach), Nuno Baptista (analyst), Pedro Mané (analyst), Betinho (physical trainer), Nuno Cerdeira (physical trainer), and Daniel Correia (goalkeeper coach).
