Allard Lindhout has been chosen as the referee for the Arsenal match in Glasgow. The Slovenian will officiate at the Dragão stadium against Nice.
UEFA announced on Tuesday the referees for the FC Porto and Sporting Braga matches in the fifth round of the Europa League league phase, scheduled for Thursday. The Dragons’ match against Nice will be officiated by Slovenian referee Matej Jug, while Braga’s away game against Rangers will be officiated by Dutch referee Allard Lindhout.
At the Dragão stadium, Matej Jug, an international referee since 2007, will be officiated by assistants Matej Zunic and Manuel Vidali. Slovenian referee Rade Obrenovic will be the fourth official, with Alen Borosak in charge of VAR.
This will not be a first for the blue and whites with this referee. The Slovenian has already officiated two FC Porto matches, both at home. In 2013/14, in a 2-2 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt for the Europa League, and in 2016/17, in the 1-1 draw against Copenhagen in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Sporting Braga will visit Rangers in Glasgow, with Allard Lindhout as the referee. The 38-year-old Dutchman will be assisted by Rogier Honig and Johan Balder, with Robin Hensgens as the fourth official. Pol van Boekel will be in charge of VAR.
