Celta Vigo inflicts fourth consecutive defeat on Sevilla.

Celta Vigo and Sevilla played the game that closed the 19th round of the Spanish League. The result favored the Vigo team, who inflicted their fourth consecutive defeat (1-0) on Sevilla. 

Vlachodimos, formerly of Benfica, started for Sevilla. Also for the home team, Fábio Cardoso was an unused substitute. At the Ramón Sánchez=Pizjuán Stadium in Seville, Marcos Alonso’s solitary goal from a penalty (88th minute) secured the three points for Celta de Vigo. With this result (1-0), Sevilla loses its fourth consecutive game (three in the League and one in the Cup) and falls to 14th place with 20 points. Celta de Vigo, in turn, moves closer to the European places – it is now seventh with 29 points = the same as sixth-placed Betis.
