The Portuguese Football Federation’s (FPF) Disciplinary Council confirms its decision aimed at “determining the disciplinary relevance of the facts” of the complaint filed by FC Porto.

The complaint filed by FC Porto’s SAD (Sporting Limited Company) against referee Fábio Veríssimo, following the controversy in the match against Sp. Braga for the League , has led to the opening of an inquiry, the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation announced in a statement.

The document explains that the decision aims to “determine the disciplinary relevance of facts reported by Futebol Clube do Porto – Futebol SAD”.

The incident dates back to the beginning of November, when Porto hosted and won 2-1 against Sporting Braga in the 10th round of the league.

After the match, Fábio Veríssimo  denounced an attempt at pressure by FC Porto , who responded by filing a complaint against the referee for alleged “threats” to members of the Porto club “with expulsions and other forms of intimidation” in the match in Arouca, at the end of September.
