Analysis of the victory over Arouca
After three consecutive defeats, the result is the most important thing. But we have to improve, we have to have more personality with the ball, because it’s normal and human when you’re at the bottom of the table to be afraid of making mistakes and taking them, but that’s where the key to improvement lies, otherwise we won’t succeed. It’s the first victory after six months and so I’m very happy, also because the team deserves it.
Were the set pieces well=worked, or was it also due to luck?
Luck always helps, but it doesn’t exist. This was undoubtedly hard work. We kept a cool head, respected the work done, and the players were impeccable in that regard. Also in set pieces. As I said, we had to improve defensively and offensively. Today we gave a response, but we have to improve in other areas.
What was the secret to turning the game around after being down?
Our commitment, as a team, is to be a strong and cohesive group, and that’s why we won today. After three defeats, and then to turn things around today, it was a very important result.
The changes in midfield resulted
Cicero wasn’t among the 20 players selected until the last game. He was left out, and that’s a great response for everyone because the way he worked to be ready as one of the best is an example for all. Regarding the tactical situation, in my opinion, when you lack a player with Yaya’s characteristics, it’s normal that you had to find another way to provide the same guarantee he gives.
