With Trincão in the press room, Sporting coach Rui Borges, in the preview to the match against Club Brugge , addressed the possibility of the Portuguese international renewing his contract and commented on Morita’s current form.
Trincão’s Renewal
“Trincão knows the confidence he has from the technical team and the coach. He’s having a great season, perhaps his best. I’m happy about that, we believe we deserve some credit for that. Renewal? That’s something beyond me, in terms of negotiation. I believe we’ll reach a good outcome with greater or lesser difficulty. He still has a contract with Sporting, and in the coming years he’ll still be spreading magic on Portuguese pitches. And abroad too, fortunately.”
Morita’s situation
“I’m not going to talk about Morita’s personal life. What’s apparent to us is that he’s happy in his day-to-day life. He’s grown immensely. He understands the need to work to improve physically. He’s a player I admire immensely; he surprised me the most when I played against him. He’s someone I admire a lot. As a person, he has a very good character. I have no doubt that he will be very important throughout the season.
