Manchester United has released its financial report for the last nine months ending March 31st, a period in which it made a profit of £40 million – equivalent to €46.2 million. However, the report reveals that the dismissal of Ruben Amorim last January cost €19.3 million.
However, despite the substantial sum the Portuguese coach is entitled to, the English club showed quite positive growth. Carrick, who replaced Amorim, managed to finish the season in third place in the Premier League, securing a place in the Champions League which, although not included in the published report, allows the club to collect a significant amount for its financial health.
Omar Berrada, chief executive of Manchester United, highlighted the work done by the former Manchester United midfielder .
“Finishing third in the Premier League and securing Champions League qualification shows that the team has improved. Michael Carrick did an excellent job in the 17 games he was in charge of the team and we are very happy that he continues as head coach, he said.
