Vitoria’s coach is determined to follow up their resounding victory against Tondela this Saturday in Vila das Aves.

Gil Lameiras, Vitória’s coach, believes his team should show “utmost respect” to AVS, currently 18th and last in the league, in the 29th round match scheduled for 3:30 pm this Saturday.

Expectations for the duel with the last=placed team.

We expect a difficult opponent, as they all are. Our approach will be the same as against any other opponent. We must have the utmost respect for our opponent, otherwise we won’t get the most out of the game. We have to focus on ourselves and continue what we’ve been doing.

Morale is high after the thrashing inflicted on Tondela (5-0)

Despite the large score, we feel it’s possible to do more. Defensively, we’ve been improving a lot. The team is more stable. We need to understand that, offensively, we can also continue to do much more. We want to continue this performance. We are aware that we can do much more than we did in the last game.

Gustavo Silva started the last game in place of the suspended Nélson Oliveira and scored.

Gustavo is a versatile player who can play in several positions and gives us various tools throughout the game, but he can only be versatile if the team supports him. We all depend on each other. If the team isn’t doing well, no matter how versatile a player is, things won’t work.

Gil Lameiras also confirmed that Alioune Ndoye continues to recover from a muscle injury and will miss Saturday’s game.
