Fenerbahçe won at home against Besiktas on Sunday afternoon (1-0). In this match of the 28th round of the championship, Ederson, Nélson Semedo and Talisca =a trio of former Benfica players = were starters for the hosts, while Aktürkoglu (former Benfica player) came off the bench in the 62nd minute.
At Besiktas, Kokcu (formerly of Benfica) played the full match. Meanwhile, central defender Tiago Djalo (formerly of FC Porto) and forward Jota Silva (formerly of Vitoria de Guimarães) remained on the bench.
After Fenerbahçe had their lead disallowed in the 56th minute for offside, Aktürkoglu converted a penalty in the 90+11th minute to decide the match. The winger has accumulated 12 goals and seven assists this season.
While Fenerbahçe occupies second place with 63 points, Besiktas is fourth with 52. Leading the table with 64 points is the three-time defending champion, Galatasaray, who lost on Saturday away to third-placed Trabzonspor (2-1).
Also on Sunday, full-back Ricardo Esgaio (formerly of Sporting) played the full 90 minutes in Karagumruk’s home win over Rizespor (2-1). Although in 18th and last place, Esgaio’s team has 20 points, five points away from safety. Rizespor, meanwhile, is in 12th place with 30 points.
