The Spanish league secures over 6 billion euros in domestic broadcasting rights.

La Liga will raise €6.135 billion, equivalent to R$37.9 billion today , from audiovisual rights in Spain from the 2027/28 season until 2031/32. The Spanish league announced this Friday the conclusion of the bidding process for domestic broadcasting rights for this future period.

The first division of the Spanish Championship alone, which includes Barcelona and Real Madrid, has guaranteed 5.25 billion euros (R$ 32.5 billion) for the next five-year cycle. Therefore, approximately 1.050 billion euros per season. This represents a 6% increase compared to the current cycle, which ends in 2026/27.

In the current complex domestic and international scenario, securing more than 6.135 billion euros in domestic rights, equivalent to more than 500 million euros compared to the previous cycle, is excellent news for the financial sustainability of our clubs and for the future of Spanish professional football  declared the president of La Liga, Javier Tebas.

When analyzing the total value of La Liga’s domestic audiovisual rights, at 6.135 billion euros , which also includes the second division and the hotel, restaurant, and café segment, among others , the increase was 9% compared to the previous cycle (still in effect).

Telefónica and DAZN won the bid in Spain. Each broadcaster will be able to transmit five matches per round, for five seasons.

“This result reflects the strength of our product and the confidence of the broadcasters, driven in large part by our determined fight against piracy, which helped increase the operators’ user base, and by the dedication of the clubs in improving audiovisual content and offering the best possible experience to the fans,” commented Tebas.
