OFFICIAL: Liverpool announces the signing of Jeremy Jacquet

Young defender arrives from Rennes, where he will finish the current season.

Jeremy Jacquet has joined Liverpool from Rennes. The deal was confirmed by both clubs on Monday night.

We have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jeremy Jacquet, with the defender set to join the club ahead of the 2026/27 season, subject to obtaining a work visa and international clearance, Liverpool said in a statement, adding that Jacquet has signed a “long=term contract.

Rennes also confirmed the agreement, with the player finishing the current season at the French club. Before joining the English club, the defender will finish the season wearing red and black, determined to conclude his career well, Rennes noted.

According to the English sports press, Jacquet arrives at Liverpool in a deal worth around £60 million (55 million fixed plus 5 million in variables), which is approximately €69 million (around 63 million fixed, plus 6 million in variables).

Jacquet, 20, completed his training at Rennes, after having played for RC Joinville and Asomba. As a senior player, he also played for Clermont.
