Nuno Espírito Santo receives Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea.

Axel Disasi swapped Chelsea for West Ham on the final night of the January transfer window. The French centre-back was loaned until the end of the season, without an option to buy.

Disasi, one of Chelsea’s captains, was not in manager Liam Rosenior’s plans. He hasn’t played this season, but last season he was on loan at Aston Villa, where he made ten appearances. A standout player for Monaco, he cost the London club over €45 million in 2023. Now, Nuno Espírito Santo’s West Ham is paying a €2.5 million loan fee and gaining another option for their defense.
