Futsal: Italy thrashes Portugal and qualifies them for the quarterf

The Portuguese futsal team is in the quarter-finals of the European Championship! After the thrashing of Hungary (5-1) and with Italy’s victory over Poland (4-0), Portugal secured first place in Group D.

Italy, who had lost to the National Team in the first round, won their first points in the tournament against Poland, thus securing Portugal’s first place in the standings.

Júlio de Oliveira (3, 13 and 33m) and Matheus Barichello (15m) scored the goals for the Italians.

Portugal remains with six points and can no longer be overtaken in the final round, because Italy and Hungary, with three points each, face each other and lose in their head-to-head matches against the Portuguese, while Poland – who face Portugal in the final round – is last, without any points, and is already eliminated.

In the quarter-finals, Portugal, which is joined by Armenia, already knows that it will face the second-placed team from Group C on Sunday: Spain leads with six points, ahead of Slovenia and Belgium, both with three, and Belarus, with no points.
