League 3: V. Guimaraes B, Trofense and Varzim in the promotion …

After Belenenses, Mafra, Académica and União de Santarém secured access to the promotion phase of Liga 3, this Sunday it was the turn of Varzim, Trofense and Vitória de Guimarães B to join Amarante, which had already secured qualification.

In the 18th and final round of the Northern group, Amarante drew 1-1 with Trofense, while Vitória de Guimarães B won 3-2 away to Sanjoanense (10th). Rounding out this quartet, Varzim achieved their third consecutive victory, this time 3-1 away to Marco 09 (8th). 

Closely following this group was Paredes, who triumphed in their visit to São João de Ver (9th), by 2-1, and totaled 27 points, one point behind Varzim and Trofense, and two points behind Amarante and Vitória B.

Furthermore, Sp. Braga (6th) and Fafe (7th) drew 2-2, finishing with 25 and 24 points, respectively.

Thus, the promotion phase will include Belenenses, Mafra, Academica, Uniao de Santarem, Varzim, Trofense, Vitória de Guimaraes B, and Amarante. These teams will play 14 games = home and away = with the top two teams being promoted to the professional leagues. Compared to last season, Belenenses, Varzim, and Amarante are repeating their participation in this phase.
