The Brazilian striker hasn’t scored for the club since March, still in last season.

Rodrygo has gone 29 games without scoring a goal for Real Madrid. The drought began on March 4th, when he scored in the Champions League against Atlético de Madrid. This Wednesday, at 5 PM, Real Madrid faces Olympiacos in the Champions League, and ge will be covering it live .

He played 14 games in the 2025/26 season wearing the Real Madrid shirt. His only direct involvement in goals was an assist for Camavinga in the 5-0 thrashing of Kairat.

Last season, Rodrygo scored 14 goals and provided 10 assists in 54 games. Under Xabi Alonso’s management, he lost playing time compared to the previous coach, Carlo Ancelotti, and is now fighting for a place in the starting lineup.

The Brazilian’s only goal for Real Madrid during that period was in a friendly against Tirol, still in the preseason. In official matches, he failed to score. For the national team, he scored twice against South Korea and provided an assist against Senegal.

If he fails to score this Wednesday against Olympiacos, Rodrygo will be the second striker in Real Madrid’s history to reach 30 consecutive games without scoring a goal. Mariano Díaz was the only one to achieve this feat, and Rafa Marañón stopped at 29 matches.

Rodrygo is not expected to start against Olympiacos. Xabi Alonso started the Brazilian in the 2-2 draw with Elche on Sunday, and substituted him for Vini Jr. at the beginning of the second half.

Real Madrid is ninth in the Champions League group stage with nine points. There will be eight rounds in total, with the top eight teams qualifying for the round of 16. Teams ranked 9th through 24th will go to the playoffs.
