Reinaldo Teixeira, president of Liga Portugal, made a point of guaranteeing that there is no invitation to host the Final Four of the League Cup, adding that this is not the board’s objective. However, he does not rule out that possibility, should an invitation be extended and everyone be willing to do so. If there is no consensus, Reinaldo Teixeira assures that no proposal will change his mind, because some principles are priceless.

Taking the League Cup abroad?

We haven’t received any invitations from abroad. The League Cup is in Portugal. We have many requests from various municipalities to host the League Cup Final Four, but as I said, we haven’t received any invitations, nor has anyone approached us about doing so from abroad. And that’s not our intention.

The response to an offer from abroad.

Imagine something comes up from abroad, then yes, we will do that analysis and always, regardless of the regulations, listening to the various sports agents, the SADs (sports corporations), the fans, and so on. It is in this context and with this balanced reasoning that we will always act.
